I saw this and i thought i would share it,
"Was browsing another webiste and came across this......
go to your folder c:\program files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\YOUR USERNAME\ and open the file "eagamesbf2- 2006online_contentbf2- patch-1_4_full.eam". change the string "displayable = FALSE" to "displayable = TRUE" and save the file. now open your ea downloader and log in, you should see the patch now in the list, click download very quickly, otherwise it will disapear from the list.
Before carrying out the above i did log out of EA downloader first
Now When it says click download quickly it means just that. Now I HAVE TRIED IT AND AM DOWNLOADING THE PATCH VIA EA DOWNLOADER 531MB in TOTAL as i type this post (Total time to download on 10mb connection is 19 mins) EA downloader does seem to slow my connection down
Now is it the real patch or not? I used notepad to do as it said and opened the original file with it then changed the string, it is about 10 lines down. Seems this little puppy turned up after the update of EA downloader. When you have changed it relogon into EA downloader and it is there but the downloader manages to change the file to not display the patch
Now i know i am opening myself upto abuse about yet another 1.4 thread but try it first and see. The link is there for a split second or 2 then dissapears but you have got enough time to click it and click download although it took me 2 attempts.
So does it mean that it is about to go live?? If so getting it now means skipping the queues of thousands of peeps trying to download it at the same time!!! "
