Idea for the next Battle Field Game

How about this,

They could combine The BF series with the Sim serious.

Ok - seeing that you havent hit the reply button as yet and start the flaming, i shall continue and explain to you how it would work.

You create an account - you select the kit you want to be.

You enter the SIM world which is located in the army barrocks. Here you will train and equip yourself with skills, stregth, stamina etc. You will teach your player how to shoot, blow up strategic items etc and after certain points or experience you start to get promoted to different levels of training. All this will determine on the kit you choose,

IE. IF you selected Sniper, you would do sniper oriented training/drills.

You could "live" in the army for X amount of days, say 10hrs or so.

You would interact with other players etc - like how we see in the movies - create a bond with eath other.

Then at a certain time, you then get selected for a mission. You would then have to suit up and head out into battle.

Now, this would pan out like normal world situations, where there would be civilains etc, and you would have a mission, not just run into the battlefield and go nuts.

You would use your selected team mates to help you achieve the mission, you would have to look out for each others back etc.

But the bit thats going to make or brake this game would be, if you die in the game/mission .................... ..... you would have to start again from the start - select a kit and train yourself up.

Now tell me, how NERVOUS will you be once you step out into the battlefield??

This is just a thought, but i tihnk it would be great - IF you had the patience though ...

There's something similar to that in Operation Flashpoint. They're called "one mission campaigns". Singleplayer though.

that would be a good game, but i dont like the start from the beginning when you die bit. I would have no were near enough patience to handle that, and it would just get annoying having to start again all the time. having missions is a brilliant idea. like rescue the hostages in the middle of a karkand type map with just transport vehicles, Or a blackhawk down type mission. Squads of rangers suit up and move out into a town (urban map) and complete an objective like, destroy a radio station (Titan based) in the middle of a large urban map and have checkpoints around that objective for spawn points. i dont know about chinese. But Objective missions instead of just conquest. Quake wars style?? i would love that

I like the idea of going through training with a bunch of strangers and they become your buddies. I mean...think about what that could do in the age so much hating on the Internet. You don't know these guys, no you're forced to cooperate and work together. It could allow refining of some social skills that most computer gamers do not have!

Starting over is unneccessary. They should have a limited amount of respawns available to complete the mission against AI or human controlled enemies. This would be a completely different series of game, not a BF game.

Now that was a classic game, maybe due for a re-install now i think about it... Of course in OFP you had that one, all important save which you had to use at the right point.
