Help, Gaming Sys only freezes during BF2

Hello,
I have a pretty good gaming sys w/ 500 watt psu.
I recently moved and replaced my motherboard and did a O/S repair on my computer to get it running again. Since then I have not been able to successfully play BF2, the game will Freeze and/or reboot sys.
I also play CIty of Villains and nvr have any problems.
I have reinstalled and treid dif patches 1.22, 1.3 etc...
Only thing i can figure is my cpu might be overheating and i may need more/new thermal grease.
If any1 has any new suggestions I would be happy to here them, at the end of my patience - and i soo luv BF2

What about your graphics drivers? have you tried some different/newest ones?

If you replace your MoBo, you should reinstall the OS because so many things changed. A simple OS repair wont help. Format C: FTW !

yeh basic rule of thumb for me is new mobo means format the whole thing again!
