I played Road To Jalalabad on the two BETAs so...anyway
I believe DICE said Road To Jalalabad was going to be 'the new Karkand' but it can't possible be for these reasons:
1. Generally the map is too spaced out
It's closer to Gulf Of Oman than Karkand. There are a lot of areas without buildings where a lot of action takes place. This is the opposite to Karkand where most of the action is centralised around the Hotel. RtJ is more rural than hardcore urban.Even in the area with buildings everything is seperated by different heights...Karkand is relatively flat.
2. Roof top snipers
Snipers really will have a picnic with this map. There's a lot more accessable roofs which means snipers can hide pretty well without being at ground level more often than not. Each spot has a good 360* view so you are never short of targets
3. A randomly placed 'out of the action' flag
There's a seperate flag that starts out as a neutral point. This is easily capped first by the USMC as they don't have to cross water, their uncappable base has a direct route over sand where a Humvee/FAV/Tank can get to fastest. Although it is releatively easy to cap.
Feel free to add more.
