just edit the patch 1.4 full in notepad.
downloadencrypted = FALSE
displayable = FALSE

now change those 2 to TRUE then u should be ok..once u change them save the file then log out to ur ead then log back in..u should see the patch 1.4 in ead but click it quick as sood as u see it cos it will disappeare. once u click it it will let u dl it...i just finished dling the incremental but i change my mind and now im dl the full.

Guys the reason you cant do anything is because you only downloaded the downloader file. The EAC

You need to add a directory for the unpacked files into the EAM file..

unpackfilelocation = C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\rancidelf\eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-patch.viv
unpackdirlocation = C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\rancidelf\eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-patch\
installerlocation = C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\rancidelf\eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-patch\setup.exe

then create a directory in the same directory the EAM file is stored which is called the same as you entered above.

Then when you download the file it will unpack the install files into that directory.

All those who downloaded the patch without adding this info will have to download aqgain lol

I'm trying this from work, where of course BF2 is not installed, and I get the error...

... in the EA doanloader, damn, do I need BF2 to be installed for this to work ?.

It must be a regional thing with EA downloader because I can't even get the correct EAM file to display but others have no issues.

Hmmm, the more I think of it the more I'm sure that this is in fact the 'bad' 1.4 patch from last weekn and won't be the final one, but it doesn't stop people from installing it and playing on the two 1.4 ranked servers out there.
