I have a few questions pertaining to BF2. First off according to the website it says 5000 points is the Staff Sergent Rank. I have around 5200 Points and my bar is all the way full yet it won't let me advance in rank. Does anyone know if they changed it by any chance? Or if there's some sort of delay or what not?

Secondly, I asked this next question on two different servers(Rubber Ducky and War is Hell) but still would appreciate more feedback. If you were to choose from PKM unlock or the Tier 2 Sniper (forget the model name), which one would you pick and why?

On the servers i did ask that, alot of people said the sniper but no one really explained what makes the Tier 2 sniper better than the M95?

Just keep on playing, earn a couple of pints, and you'll get the new rank. If you get past 5000 and stop playing then it won't update until you play again.

The unlock depends on you and no one else. Which role do you prefer playing? I have no sniper unlocks because I never play sniper so why waste an unlock on it even if the weapon was wonderful?

The tier 2 sniper unlock can shoot through glass.

If you dont have the M95 choose that. If you have it choose the PKM rather than the L96A1 sniper rifle since its almost exactly the same as the M24...
PKM is a good upgrade

Correct me if i am wrong,but i think its the first sniper unlock that shoots through glass(M95)The tier 2 unlock is the L96A1 correct?Sorry if i am wrong.

Errr, probably. I just imagined that the first unlock would be called 'tier 2' as it's ther 2nd weapon.

When i say Tier 2 i mean the second unlock. I already own the M95 and although i find myself playing sniper a bit more than playing Support, i've been playing Support alot lately. With support it just seems like i mow people down in bunches and i finished with a bronze medal using nothing but support earlier on Rubber Ducky which is a fairly competitive server. On the servers that i asked the question, alot of people were saying to get the second sniper. There reasoning was that the PKM is inaccurate?


I was leaning towards the snipe but now i just dont know.

Anyone else have any suggestions on which unlock i should pick?

L96A1 is a very good sniper rifle, it has a thinner cross hair than the M95 or the M24 making it easier to get those head shots I also find it more accurate. Yes the PKM is inaccurate but if you prone and fire in short bursts it isn't too bad, it also packs quite a punch. At the end of the day it's up to you!

Thanks i appreciate all the replies, but yeah this is a tough decision as i can't make up my mind lol.

Just keep giving some feedback and maybe i'll go with a majority rules type thing. Who knows? lol

The L96A1 is better for infrantry. sounds cool and looks sexy. If you want something that looks like its got more grunt (it doesnt) go for the m95 (it can shoot people out of vehicles, DONT TK WITH IT). The M95 has a chunky crosshair and makes it difficult shooting Infrantry. The L96A1 has a very useful crosshair, its thinner then the m95. In conclusion i think the L96A1 us tge gun to unlock, becuase when your not using it, the shoot through glass ability is quite handy (NOT TK'ing)

Get Special Forces, or let someone play a game using your account in Spec forces, and you'll get 2 unlocks...problem solved:) You'll also get backdated unlocks.

I would personally go for the L96A1, but then i go sniper pretty much exclusively, but the PKM is one of the best guns in the game and makes getting a lot of points easier due to resupplies and rapid fire.

And of course don't zoom in.. I see lots of people zooming in with PKM sometimes I do but in 90% of the cases I don't.. I can shoot earlier and well just watch the statistics.. :p

I already have SF along with every booster possible but i already had my mind set on using one of the two unlocks on the Second Medic Unlock and wow is that gun sweet. First match i played with my new Medic unlock i got a silver medal. But yeah i just can't decide what to do with the second Unlock.

PKM hands down. I have both the L96A1 and the PKM. I have 30 hours sniping time with the L96A1 and only 15 hours with the PKM. Yet i have over double the kills with the PKM. TBH, it depends on which kit you play the most. For example, i played sniper alot when i first got the game, then realised what a ****ty non-teamwork kit it was so switched to medic/support/spec ops, or anti tank when there are alot of whores around!
Pick your unlocks based on the kits you play most, or kits you enjoy the most.
