    Jostick Questions

I know theres are tons of joystick threads out here, seeing how I read alot of them since im looking to buy a joystick. I was thinking of the Force 3D Pro but the only difference between that and the Extreme 3D Pro is force feedback, which BF2 doesnt support.

I came across this thread and found it very interesting so I have 2 questions.

    1) Would the Extreme 3D Pro support the setup Talus posted?
    2) What is force feedback (have no idea) and will BF2142 support it?

    Thanks a bunch.

    Re: Jostick Questions

You don't even need a joystick to fly 2142 vehicles, they are so easy. The future eliminates mastering the skill of flying planes and choppers...

But for bf2, the 3d pro works great. Force feedback is unnecessary and i don't think any bf series games support it. The real way to buy a joystick is to go to the store and test out which ones feel good to you.

how i pick a joystick is i go to the store look at all the prices look at how much $$$ i have and then find the one that is closest to the amount of $$$ i have and it is usually the best one for what i can afford... lol or ask the sales assistant that will be on you in seconds...

I can't really answer your questions, but a word of advice: buy it from newegg. Their prices are unbelievably low for joysticks and well...everything. Oh and like the above poster said, aviation is a lot easier in 2142. I had a blast in our attack helo with a mouse and keyboard.

How do you know its easier in BF2142? Did beta start or something? And how is it easier.

A moment of silence...for our soon-to-be-dead jets, and the skill that goes with them.

Is >>this<< the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro? Its not labeled as 'Extreme'. Id order it off newegg as I do with every computer appliance I have but im impatient and dont feel like waiting. And I have Best Buy gift cards anyways.

And no one has answered yet wether or not Talus's thread on hat switching (Here) works with the Logitech Extreme 3d pro

                :)

And Talus's thing works fine with it.

I recommend not getting any of the low end Logitech's they are notorious for not being able to center properly after a while. I highly recommend Saitek's ST290 Pro cand can be found at walmart for $20.

Metallicaguitarist, Planewhore, and many other skilled pilots use the 3d pro (including me but i suck in planes). It is very popular, just like the Saitek cyborg.

                            2. My config will work for ANY joystick. I have mentioned which buttons do what but the trigger and POV hat should be the same for EVERY joystick. If you want to remap the extras like eject and view switching, then switch the settings for button 5 to something else. If you wanna move the commo rose key, switch the settings for button 8 to something else.

Yeah I tried getting his config stuff to work using the 3D Pro config he posted and after an hour of messing around with it I got frustated and just removed it and started playing. Took awhile to get used to the JS since ive been using M&K but after about 2 hours playing it makes flying so much more fun.
