Another video problem

My spec is :
Intel P4 at 3.4GHz (2 CPUs)
2GB or ram
and 256mb ati radeon x600

I have graphic problems of textures going black, i have already asked someone, and they said that the graphics card is over heating, but i can't find any where on ati control panel that will higher the fan speed (it isn't running on the catalyst driver because my HP laptop doesn't support it). Does any one know how to higher the fan speed another way, or lower the temp.

Also people have been saying what temp there card runs at and i want to know how to find that out.

All help will be much appreciated!

laptops get pretty hot most times dont know a way of increasing the fan speed on mobility cards sorry
