Have you seen the Unreal 3 engine? When Gears of War comes out, you'll be seeing that level of detail.

Yes, the images are renders, but they are rendered within the engine. No one said that the character models were the actual models used in gameplay. They're probably just used for the ingame cut scenes.

Those gfx will be rendered images via LIghtwave or 3dstudio.

The models will be exported and then rendered with the ingame engine and it will NOT look like that trust me.

as for the CPUs, the MHZ means less and less each time they come out with a CPU. they're making them able to handle more bandwidth at the same time than making them faster, hence why a 3400+ and a 4600+ both run at the same speeds (2.4 ghz), yet the 4600+ CPU kicks 3400+'s butt.

they're getting into the whole multithreading idea. the more threads and processes it can do at one, the less MHZ/GHZ the CPU needs to perform the same. they're just adding more abilities to the CPUs to perform the functions at the same time, and increasing the CPU speed is just helping a bit.

Just like to say that i own an X360 and it CAN produce that level of graphical detail. 3 cores running at 3.2ghz each? It's just a shame that console games suck.

Graw actually had some decent graphics in gameplay. They are all renders btw.

But for that graphics yo need at least:

3500 mhz ( real mhz, not just the model, like an AMD 64 3500 + )

A graphic card with 1024 Mb and sppeds of at least 1000/2250 core/mems + Directx10 or even 10.5

                4 Ghz of DDR2

New power supply to handle all that shiat...

                etc...

all that for playing 100 people server games... which is what all ppl like to play.

If the max players would be 16 or so then you wouldnt need so much specs obviously.
u do know its for Ps3 And Xbox 360

AmD was pioneer introducing that labelism so people didnt bought Intel just for the speed. But i dont care a **** about this. Im no fanboy of any brand.

thruth is speed as a matter of fact really counts.

Anyway i wasnt trying to say anyhthing regarding that issue.

MAybe i´ve coulda said we should need a AMD10000+ but due to AMDS meaningless labelism that maybe would be a 2800 mhz processor so...
Sorry to burst your bubble but I am a system builder working with both brands equally. Both brands have their strenghts and weaknesses.

To say you would need a (real ) 3500MHz processor to run such games is total BS.

EA's Fight Night looks that nice. It doesn't surprise me that it will look like that, if not better. Look at the Crysis engine...I mean, they show you actual gameplay video footage, and trust me, it DOES look like that in real-time.

Mind you, to fully exploit these graphics, they will probably limit how large the maps will be and how many objects will be rendered at once in real-time, but it's definitely not impossible.

                    PEACE

Interesting speculation, but horribly wrong. I can only assume you don't know much about chip architecture or coding to think anyone would need that much to run a game in the next 10 years.

I would love to see a game publisher release system requirements showing you need 4GB of RAM to play a video game, let alone a 1GB video card. That would be the quickest failure of a game ever. It would not sell as only a small percentage of consumers actually own the bleeding edge technology of computing.

Perhaps if you had said 10 years from now. I only hope no one that read your reply thought it was accurate.

you talk sh!t tbh doesnt really matter about ghz its the way the proccesors work and interface with the motherboard and the speed between the cpu and motherboard at the end of the day because of amd's shorter pipelines they beat p4's in gaming they laugh at them then p!ss on them for good mesure with the new core 2 duo they have changed there pipelines and clock cycles and finally gotten rid of crappy netburst the 2.93ghz E6800 beats the best P4 by 60% and the best amd by 15-30% be quite in future:)

oh and bf badcompany would run with a pair of 7900gtx with the DX10 hardware/software layer added for developers :p that would run max with decent fps because of the way the new direct X works

And why is everything in that image blured out except for the humvee? No thats not an in game shot by any strech of the imagineation. Unless their solution to low frame rates with grphx like that is to blur everything that is not in a very small focus lane out.

                                The faces are clearly renders
