Quick Question bout the Saitek Eclipse

Ok, ive got the saitek eclipse and im just wondering if the backlight runs out of battery or anything. Cuase i always have it on an im wondering if it will run out. And also if i keep pressing it on and off during the day would it break the backlight?

The backlight takes its power through the usb cable.
