it might be irrelevant, but instead of pressing 'join game' button simply press ESC

it NEVER crashed on me that way.. while join game has about 20% failure rate

Just wait ten seconds after the Join button appears to click it... It is better to simply not click the button or press Esc... Just wait for the game to load.

I've tried this and still get CTD when pressing escape, sometimes get CTD before I even have chance to click join game and other times clicked join game, entered round and before kit selection comes up CTD.
On the other hand I've gone whole days without a single CTD.

this ESC key theory seems to be working for me so far.


i tried repatching 1.3 Full after a fresh install... it didnt seem to help the issue.

As far as I've been able to discern, the CTD after hitting join game is completely random. I will go a week without getting a CTD and then get one either before, as I hit it, or as it starts to load the class selection screen. Then I wont get another one for another week.

1.4 should fix this problem and if it doesnt then I guess we'll have to wait for 1.5.........
