    WOW, This Game Sucks Now

    I have not played vanilla BF2 for about 5 months. I'm more into the hardcore realism of Project Reality. But since my server was full I decided to give Vanilla BF2 a try. What happened to this game? I went to 3 servers & everyone was just jumping around & then lying flat on the ground shooting, what is that? I forgot unless you get a head shot you need AT LEAST 1 FULL clip to kill anybody . I also noticed vehicles coming out of the sky WTF? I'm no military expert but I dont think were dropping Humvee's from the sky currently in Iraq. I'm sorry but I'm going back to Project Reality because this ARCADE game is not for me.......End of rant.


    BTW: If 2142 is ANYTHING like the current state of BF2 I'm not interested. I guess after being spoiled with Project Reality I'm glad vanilla bf2 was left for the kids.

          I kind of agree with you. Dropping humvees is lame and only opened up a nasty tin of bugs and glitches for the cheaters to exploit.

          The game is still fun, but not as fun as it once was.

              mmmk..thanks for sharing.

              and i disagree with the comment about the vehicle drops being bad. i think they are pretty good, very handy if used correctly with a good commander. then again, i only play on 1 server on teamspeak with the same guys, and usually 1 of us is commander and we play on the same team. so vehicle drops tend to work pretty well for me.

                      1. 2-3 hits & your either dead or bleeding badly
                      2. No vehicles dropping from the sky thats just lame
                      3. 2 rockets hit ANY vehicles & it's toast

                          Imagine if everyone in BF2 did that ^? it would be like Quake with the bouncing around.

                          Really get used to it, Karkand is just a nade spamming, medic whoring, claymore whoring, c4 chucking, tank whoring, bunny hoping macroing world.

                          It has gotten worse, but you have to learn to play on better servers or learn to deal with it.

                                  On 2 of the 3 servers I played on Karkand was the map so I would have to agree with you. I'm just use to more tactics & strategy....Maybe I chose the wrong servers.

                                  Just PR although to be honest I have not looked at any others. Although I hear that Point of Existance is pretty good.

                                      If you think PRMM is "hardcore realism" than you seem to know as much as the guy who wrote the text in the loading screens for each map, ie, as much as a 12 year old tom clancy fan who thinks hes a military expert.

                                          Battlefield has always been a arcade style military game just because you suck at it you don't need to come here and cry about it we have enough of that as it is kthxbye

                                          p.s. PR is ok but FAR from being a finished game

                                              I agree that BF2 took a hard turn for the worst with 1.3, but here's to hoping 1.4 bails it out.

                                                  It still has the dolphin diving/bunny hopping. Reality doesn't even work with BF2 they even proved it themselves when they showed that the ironsights don't even shoot where you aim at. The mod isn't even that realistic medics can still re-heal themselves pretty nicely and they still have assault rifles (they got rid of Anti Tank SMG why not give the medic that) and alot of other issues that aren't really up to scratch...

                                                      yeah ...this isnt modern warfare..its suppoe to be somewhat futuristic like the f35b didnt come out when the game was out and the humvee dropping is pretty useful when ur just going around guarding cps

                                                          Mods for the win. BF2 inf combat is kinda stupid in Vanilla.

                                                          I would play PR if I got a good ping on the servers. Everything is in Europe gah.
