Constantly loosing connection to server

I recently purchased a new computer, which was a big step up from my older system. Now, no matter what server I play on, the game freezes for about 3-4 seconds, then i get booted from the server and get the message "Lost connection to server." I have seen other threads on similar issues, but they are not exactly the same nor have they been addressed recently. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

CPU-AMD Dual Core Athlon 64 X2 3800+
RAM-2 GB
NVIDIA Geforce 6100 with 256mb of memory
1.3 Patched BF2
Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 (firewall IS running)

Mine isn't quiet as bad...but its similar.

I keep losing the connection during play, it either comes back or sometimes it locks up...

Any idea why anyone? And my internet connection/speed is fine!

It is from patch 1.3 dont worry but try shutting down your AV and firewall and update ur punkbuster when playing hope it helps

I didn't have this problem with my older computer, and it had the 1.3 patch. I would shut down my Firewall when playing but im afraid to because it is currently blocking tons of **** from getting on my computer.

If u r afraid then use the task manager and shut down any application connecting to the internet ex: msn and so on
note:becareful not to close important services such as explorer or something

One thing I could do is put down the PC-cillin and activate windows firewall. Its not as great but it is better than nothing. Nobody seems to have problems with the windows firewall.

I got the same thing :/

I got 15mbs up and 2mb down... and its not my ISP, Its the crap *1.3* patch that EA makes ehh

i never had that prob before but now i do, its really making me mad, but on the good side patch 1.4 is gonna come out really soon and itll fix all those bugs that 1.3 gave us. so just wait till that patch
