Any arty kills you get will go in to that vehicles kills that you are in.. but you won't get actual points. Just kills.

Thanks for that, its cleared up a lot. I have been wondering for a while why i've been getting air defense/ground defense badges and ribbons randomly when not even killing anyone with them but just sitting on them.

Commander does get points for kills he makes in the 'normal' way, ie shooting someone but not for 'commander kills' ie Art.

Few times as a commander I've ended up having to defend a base and have got the kill points for people I've nailed in the normal play of the game ie not in the commander screen.

As said, the kills you make from command ie Art do not show but do count towards some badges. I'm not sure if its all though. I got Expert AA sat in a AA on the carrier on Gulf of Omen as the commander, though I only shot down 2 planes, very gh3y I know *blushes*

No he doesnt, What metallicaguitrst said is right. Commander only scores points when his team does (the average) thats why if you actualy command properly, you get more points, because your helping your team get more points.

Thats because badges and ribbons count "time" and "kills" and not score. Kills get registered, whatever you do, you just dont get points for those kills, nor for any of your play-action for that matter. You get POINTS as your teams average points.

No you aren't right.

You don't get points for kills, you just get the kills in the kill column. That's how you end up with something like... 30 kills, and 10 points... because you are commanding.

metallicaguitrst is correct.

Usually when I command and my team is kicking *** (like 175+ - 75) I'll hold off on the arty and let them pick up more kills that way i get more points (since the teams average score will go up when they kill them) at the end of the round.

Commanders do NOT..... NOT get points for getting kills, or teamwork points or ANYTHING.

Their points is the average of the team, it doesn't matter if you have 500 kills... you will still have the average points of your team.

You might be right but how would commanders be able to get first place then? Many times i see the gold medal go to the commander so....how would that work if it's the average score of the team?? I don't understand.

Well.... if EVERYONE has say.... 50+ points on your team, and there is 32 people, lets just say the total points for the team is 1,700. Divide that by 32, and that would be 53 commander points.

Now if the commander WINS, he will have 106 points, cause it got doubled.


Lots of times, you will have games on karkand or something, where everyone has a high/decent score, but they are all close together. So the commander has that high average, and when he gets doubled, he will pull past everyone else in points.

When you kill someone, normally you would get a message at the bottom of the screen that says "You killed (name here)". But when you are commander this message does not appear, it only apears at the top of the screen saying who killed who. So you don't get points for it.
