      Just my opinion.
Wow welcome to 10 years ago. I swear some of you guys are so ignorant sometimes and dont look back at history. Quake, Unreal Tournament, Unreal and many other have been been tweaked engine and re-modeled over again. They still sell and so will this game.

Well obviously if some people ran a game company around here they would be extinct like many of the other game comapanies have. Obviously it is much better to have something than nothing. They plan ahead to develop games; this isn't ma and pop operations. The 90's were a different time in PC gaming and games were a lot more simple to produce.
Go take a micro/macro economics class at your local community college; trust me it will open your eyes to real world business situations.

The Quake Wars argument is getting old and it is the same reply. But hey whatever if you guys do not have patience for this than I cannot see the long wait out for delayed QW. I will still buy it along with 2142.

Besides you only buy 1 or 3 games a year now; so if you cannot afford it than you might have problems in real life and interacting in social events. Hey some people just don't like future fighters and it is what it is.

If they planned correctly, BF2 still had a lot of money making potential left in it.

I dont foresee 2142 being a BF2 worldbeater. It might attract the quake style players, but bf2 will have a good fanbase. 2142 has to have a kick butt unlock and progression to be viable. Plus bf2 isnt even dead yet, just building steam imho.

Hmmm 10 years ago, that would be 1996. Most FPS games were based on the Doom engined

My point was not that games used different engines, most buy their engines and develop from that. My bad for not clarifying.

I was using the BF1942 / BFV analogy because BFV did not being anything new over BF1942 (allowing for the different time line) other than the ability to play music on your ingame vehicle.

BF2 however has brought many new features to the concept of FPS 'team' online gaming compared over its predecessors (BF1942 and BFV). Grant most have been done before in other games.

Hence imo BF2142 is not for me. But plenty of other people will like it :)

/ Wanders off to count UT releases and compare againt Madden releases .....
