This "bug" was marketing time for the bf2142 demo. This way people pay atention to the demo and not to bf2.

And if they really missed a bug after 9 patches and 1 month of public beta testing, Dice team is really retarded.

Search the forums. You'll eventually find a thread showing an article detailing that it has been put off for 1 week. Date of release (most likely, if not for sure) August 22nd 2006.
