IIRC, I think the only way to lose the points earned during a round is if the server crashes before the round ends. I could be wrong though, so someone please correct me if I am.

You should get the points even if the server crashed ... the points are NOT stored on the server you play on. Isn`t crashing in the middle of the game the same as being kicked from the server in the middle of the game?!? So = in both cases you should keep the points made till crash/kick because points are stored somewhere else...

yeah today i was kicked just before the end of a round for flying a jet around aimlessly on wake... yet i still recieved a gold medal.

that must have pissed the admin off for sure.

i thought that if you get kicked/diconnect from a server before the round is over that you don't get your points

Server crashs are the only that will stop u from earning the points in the round.

If the server crashes you do lose your points (so I'm told) as they're only sent to EA at the end of the round (inspired programming there from Dice - not).

As I understand it, if you get kicked, your stats are still sent to EA at the end of the round. Assuming the server doesn't crash after you've gone.

Likewise if people leave before the end they'll still get a mention, or a medal.

Getting kicked is no different from leaving (otherwise noob admins everywhere could wreak havoc on people's stats).

i remember reading an interview with someone from DICE when the game fist came out 'cause i lot of people were wondering about stats. from what i recall as long as you played in the server for 5 minutes you will keep your stats, and the stats snapshot is sent to the stats server after every round, so yeah if you get kicked, keeps stats, server crashes, no stats.

I honestly think you need to finish the round, I have gotten a medal before and left, never got it until I joined server again later and earned it again....?

This topic has been brought up so many times, I might just go into my server and play 1/2 the round and see.

I've tried. If you leave by disconnecting or are kicked, you still get the points. If you crash or hit Alt F4, you do lose the points.
