Urgent: BF2 crash during map loading

Hi, my friend has huge problem with bf2.

His game used to work fine until yesterday. His game crashes when loading map. This is not a typical issue found in 1.3 when you press join the server and ctd happens. His problem happens before "join the server" appears.

So far he tried:

- deleting all profiles from My documents
- completely deleting bf2 (registry, folders) and reinstalling it on another drive
- installing new video card drivers
- installing different patches (incremental + full patches)
- changing ingame graphics settings


If anyone ever experienced the same problems, please, post your fix.

What persentage and what is it loading when it crashes?

Run the game in windows mode and note down any errors that apear.

Make sure he is using the full 1.3 patch. If nothing helps, just sit tight and wait for 1.4, next Tuesday. I know that it's not much help but what else can you do?
