Previous patches

Im getting sick of 1.3 and want to install a previous patch, Will these be ranked and which one will be the best in your opinions?

if you go back to pre-1.3 you will find NO ranked servers.

Wait till the 1.4 patch comes out then see what you feel. If you still don't like it then go back to pre 1.3 :P, and yea, servers will be non ranked :)

If you go back to pre 1.3 you will find some ranked servers which do count stats.

9 1.22 servers
1 1.21 server

Indeed, while I have never played an older patch once a new one was out, I did go back to 1.12 to watch a few Codeseven and 20ID battlerecorder demos. I was amazed to see about 20 servers running 1.12 and half of them fully populated.

To be honest i dont really care about stats i just play for fun, So what patch would you all recomend?

Patch 1.3

Yeah it has a load of problems which will result in you being disconnected and servers crashing but you really don't have a huge choice for online play. It's the version that almost all BF2 players are using.

At this point, it's probably better to just hold on to 1.3 if you already have it.. 1.4 is so close.

I've been running 1.22 since early June (didn't want to patch to 1.3 with all the horror I was reading about) and went on haitus from multiplayer over a month ago because all of the EA US Official servers were no longer available under 1.22; basically all of my hopes and dreams for BF2 rest on 1.4

EA sends out the ranked server patches to their GSP's but have little or no power in actually forcing them to patch up.

Why they still record stats though is beyoçnd me but it must be impossible to isolate 'older' versions maybe?

Does seem odd, with an older version it could be possible for someone to get more points by glitching or some stupid bug.

Ah yeah. In fact up until a few weeks ago there were a couple of ranked 1.02 servers floating about which were almost always full and allowed you to sail about in your engineer-full Blackhawk, capping flags without having to get out :)
