    Weird problem with connection

    Hi!
I have a friend of mine that when he tries to connect into a server the game gives him this error:"Unable to connect to the server. Check your internet Connection" (it's a translation from italian).

Maybe if he quit and reopen the game, the server (into the favorite section) appears green. Sometimes red.

This error never happened to him but since 1 week does. (omg this english ._. wow)

    What should he do?

We have checked firewall on windows (he disabled windows one and he got sygate).
    Someone help him please ^^

    Bye! Thanks!

    Re: Weird problem with connection

    1. If you have a proper antivirus (like NOD32 or kaspersky), proper spyware protection (like ad-aware), proper regitry care software (like regvac and regitry mechanic), u don't have any reason to have a firewall.
The only reason I have one is to block programs from connecting the net.

    2. Disable any programs in the background, and complete this action with Task Manager.

    3. Does he use 1.3 patch? If he doesn't tell him to wait till 1.4 . Installing 1.3 now, then reintalling BF2 and instaliing 1.4 can't do any good.

    4. Delete the Battlefield 2 folder in MY DOCUMENTS. That will reset your settings, maybe the prob is there.

    5. Turn off VOIP

    6. Select Software mode in AUDIO options

    7. Join a server, die, respawn, open console:
    pb_sleep 500
    pb_writecfg

reduces the numbers of PB checks = less lags and solves things

    8. Delete:
    a: cache directiry in C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2
    b: Logocache directory in C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2

    9. Give us some system specs!
If he have a dual core processor, before login: Ctrl+alt+del, RClick on BF2.exe, and disable CPU 1 in set affinity option.
If this doesn't help, enable CPU 1

    10. Try setting BF2.exe to High priority.

    System specs!! :)
