Something to hold all of you over till patch day

Lots of heat and agression rising up, so why not make this a time where we can all post about our memorable and "special" moments in BF2 that really made it stand out to you than any other game. Also, what made you decide to get bf2?

I remember playing Battlefield 1942 and loving it. I especially liked the bombardments with destroyers with sniper assistance. However, Vietnam was released and was nothing but a campfest 24/7 with choppers. That really discouraged me from the BF series.

However, BF2 came out...though I wasn't too interested due to Vietnam. Eventually, my best friend tried talking me into at least checking it out at his friend's house. I remember the thing that really caught my eye was how the pouches on the infantry would bounce up and down off the infantry, instead of it being superglued to the side. Just that little thing, for some reason, is probably the final thing that pushed me into buying the game. The graphics were great, and I love class-based teamwork games. I then went out and bought it. I immediatly fell in love with it and have been playing it ever since. I remember getting excited on my first shock paddle kill vs a sniper.

I remember Blackhawk whoring when the game came out. Ahhh that was nice. AND THEY ARENT doing **** to the guns in Patch 1.4!!!!!! WHEN IS IT COMING OUT!!!!! jk jk

I remember right after the 1.3 patch, people complaint about not able to squad hop a lot.

1.3 was the death blow to vanila bf2. 2142 will most likly be the end of the bf series.

I remember getting what was (to me) the colest killing spree. I was at the mosque, mashtuur, grabbed a fallen medic kit (MEC kit), saw 5 MEC guys approaching me. I immediately opened fire, killing 1 with my AK, but those bullets were the alst in my clip. So, I pulled out my pistol. BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM. another one dead, By then my health was next to nothing. My pistol clip was spent too, si I whipped out my knife, jumped down on top of a MEC who had gone prone, stabbed him. The remaining 2 MEC were still standing, and since I had gone prone right in front of somebody, it looked to him like I had disappeared. Stabbed him in the leg. But then I was killed by the last guy:|:

Oh, and as for why I got BF2. . . well I had played other games like it, and I wanted to just try it out, then I saw the movies on the site. . . I had to get it.

Please have a little respect for other peoples threads...jerks!

ON TOPIC:

What did it for me was the modern weaponry. I loved DC but could not fly the choppers to save my arse! Even after learning in this game, I went back thinking I could prolly fly one now....no luck! Why it was so hard for me I will never know...maybe the engine physics?

Anyways, I also was very keen on the stat thing, that very quickly ended for me as I seen how it totaly ruined the game in ways. Everyone was to caught up on the next kill to give a crap about their team mates. But I found some good guys & gals and formed my own clan. We still see the regular dip$*@t's that care only for their stats, but we have fun none the less.

But what really got me in the game, was the intro video. I still watch it all the way through most times on load up, gets me ready for action. The fact that you can have so many accurate models doing all kinds of things at once, still is very impressive.

So even though the game has had more downs than ups, I still play, now waiting on mods to keep my interest going with the BF2 Cababilities.
