IO on Wake Island is a blast!
I've tried it on beta and compared to usual Wake, is like night and day.
The only vehicles are boats. USMC can reach any flag by water,
while the Chinese have to run to be able to defend their flags. :laugh:

Ill be looking for a 64 IO server as soon as the patch comes out. I would like to play the rest of the maps with IO only and see how that works. I REALLY wish you could play 64 players on a 32 player map.

I just have a crazy feeling its gonna be super point whoring going on. Is it confirmed yet as to whether IO servers will be ranked? If they're ranked, expcect 90% medics with most of the competition going to reviving fallen comrades.

Oh, and I can easily see spawn point camping going on. One of the worse flaws about BF2, and don't get me wrong, I love this game, is it's SPAWN system. I know ALL the spawn locations on Karkand and Sharqi by heart. All of them. That should not be the case.

I gaurantee you this will be exploited in IO servers.

You're probably right. Yesterday I checked out some IO servers on Karkand to see what it was like. I was disappointed to find out squads were camped in places to pick off new spawners. Over and over I spawned and was killed instantly. The overall expiernce was dumebd down for whiners, now cheaters are surging, and the cheapos lame it up for fake points.

I will not play a single second of it. BF2 without vehicles is a total waste of time.

Nothing's fair about 3 guys prone on the ground staring at a spot....Then when a player spawns at that spot, hundreds of bullets flying at his back before he can even turn.

I don't know, I haven't tried it yet. Squad Leaders will become extremely important in IO mode. In clan servers, it won't be as much of a problem. But in a pub server, where you potentially have 64 people who don't know each other and can't play as a team, I see a lot of point whoring and spawn camping going on.

Spawn camping is something that, unfortunately, is going to happen on any server, with or without vehicles. In fact in the time I've played I've experienced much worse spawn camping from apcs and helicopters than anything else.

ill play it only because i predict its easy knife-kills.......i garentee my knife-kills per round will be triplifieded three times twice.....



ide like to find a server that plays 2 or three rounds of reg style....then a round or two of IO per each map on the rotationn

The motivation to be anything but a sniper or a medic will be slim... but I'll still give it a go.

I imagine it will be easier to get some of the awards without the threat of vehicles pounding you... Support could be a fun class in IO

Well then it's a good thing DICE was nice enough to dumb down the game for you, so that way you don't have to get skill in the air and shoot down the opposing jets, eh? Because, in reality, it's DICE's fault that you don't want to use vehicles, isn't it? That you would rather run about on foot and get wailed on by armour and whine about it than either counter the armour or get into armour of your own is definitely a fault of the developers of this game. Yep. Good call.
