That news item has no date in it specifying what is meant under today. This is a typical mistake made when articles are copied from their sources the next day and things like today, yesterday and tomorrow are not corrected.

I made the effort and clicked on the source link and guess what ... the original was posted on 15th August.

these are more websites just taking the same community update post from the 15th and using it over and over again and in there headers they say not this week etc, but the "OFFICIAL" postings say nothing of the sort, all they said was TBD. and a more recent update (16th) says with the release of the patch blah blah.

Anyway ... who has read an EA announcement that the patch will be out today? This, as far as i have seen, is speculation at first and if it is speculated many times it becomes a fact ... the life of rumours .. the grapevine

Yes - However this does not mean a release inside 24 hours as there are policies that must be obeyed for any release.

8/15/06 Annouced Patch Was Delayed And Not Comming Out On 15th.

8/15/06 Annouced From Dice That Was Delayed A Small Bug Was Found, also released Change Log.

8/16/06 Says And I Quote "With the release of the 1.4 patch" No Where Does It Say That Its Released Today, But Also No Where Does It Say That It Will Come Out Next Week."

I myself am being Optomisitc Just because it feels better to be that way. Only Time Will Tell, They Start Work At 10 AM PST Right Now Thats 2 Hours Away.

EA says that the release date is not set, it could be today, tomorrow, toyota.

This patch has been long overdue so people getting antsy over it is well deserved.
