have you ever got a award without even trying to get it.


e.g i was shooting randomly at targets with m249 saw and i killed someone and it awarded me the good conduct ribbon

That shouldn't be unusual. I think you are supposed to play for the team and for the win. The awards and medals are supposed to reward your on-field performance in that endeavor. Your not actually supposed to play for this badge or that ribbon but most of us do.

I got Vet Sniper in a jet, certainly wasn't expecting it..I picked sniper and then a plane spawned with no one around me (MEC on Gulf of Oman) so I took it

All of my medals I got just from playing for fun except for...

Purple Heart (I just wanted it, lol)
expert pistol (used pistol all round)
basic knife (commander mode, UAV, and knife campers)
veteran knife (commander mode, UAV, and knife campers)
expert knife (commander mode, UAV, and knife campers)
expert AA (stayed in AA all round)
expert ground defense (stayed in ground defense whole round)
expert first aid (spammed medpacks on purpose for it)

The rest of them I was always suprised when I received them.

I was playing support on Karkand and I got my 3rd Good Conduct Medal. I didn't even know I had the hours needed for it.

I actually got my good conduct medal while playing spec ops. How about that :P Final kill to get it was c4, too....and that was back before they nerfed it.
