When you render as, Put it not as AVI, but WMV, it will compress it for you pretty good with good quality

when you render make shaw you pull the yellow triangle acrross to the end of your movie and then select render loop region only. Also every box is detachable if you look say at the video preview box screenys below



you can see it nestled nicely on the bottom but if you click and drag the 7 dots you can move it anywere or make it bigger



another thing is if you delete let say the preview video window just click on view at the top and check preview video again. i just picked up to things that help me which i didnt realise untill working with vegas a few times but if you ever need help then add me to xfire or msn and we will try and work it out

Don't confuse him with the yellow triangle stuff. I don't even know what that means. You only need to worry about highlighting a region and rendering loop region only when you only want to render a part of your project. If you want to render it all, simply deselect "render loop region only".

I recommend rendering with DivX. Excellent quality for the file size. It also has a calculator to figure what bitrate you need to get your desired file size. It's under .avi.

If you are going to further edit the render, you should render uncompressed.

As for rendering, I usually use mpeg. Its one of the smaller file types. Whatever you do, dont use avi. I was converting tapes at my church and a 5 minute long tape was about 1 gig. A 5 minute long mpeg was only about 150 mb. Good luck learning how to use this program, its pretty neat. I just finished up my first video for my part of the church (the youth) and I think it was pretty dang good :).

It sounds like the .avi you rendered to was uncompressed. Once you compress it (DivX) it will be as small as you want it.

Hey thanks for the help with the PIP effect. Now, should i be rendering my files in any certain way when i get ready to save my movie? Im a stickler for the quality of a video, but i do know that keeping file size down is important too....Any suggestions?? I use fraps to record.

BattleLauncher won't help you render from Vegas.

What it can do is mess up your game files and make a 4 GB unreadable video file.

Your right ............. I missread what was asked.

However b/launcher can be used to record instead of fraps.

That may or may not make a differance.

Hey i went to your site but i could not find any info about vent. Im catching on pretty quick. The triangles thing didint confuse me...lol

I did render a small little project with DivX and was very pleased with the quality.....however i do not know alot about calculating to get a certain filesize...maybe u can help me out with that on vent. Untill i can find ur vent info, mine is @ www.blackopsplatoon.com
