Sony Vegas Help.

I have never used Sony Vegas before, but after downloading the trial version and messing around with it for a while it doesnt seem like its to complex.

I have watched some BF2 videos where the main footage will be taking up mostly the whole screen and then you see a smaller screen come up as well....maybe with the same footage but at a different camera angle. I really like this effect and im wondering if someone can help me out and teach me a few things along with how to do this effect.

I looked for it. Im guessing its not in the trial version......unless i looked in the wrong place...

You have track motion in the trial, it's a button under your track controls on the left.

Nevertheless, in order to do a picture-in-picture (PIP), create another video track, and place the footage you want smaller on the top track. This means it will show in front of all the video tracks below it. Then you want to take the event(s) (each block of media) on the upper track, and resize them with the pan/crop tool (icon on the right end of the events, or by right clicking an event).

In Echo Squad: Sharqi Liberation this is used for the split screen parts.

The "Picture-In-Picture" is in the Video FX > Cookie Cutter btw.

No but really, I didn't know that. Not sure how the cookie cutter comes into play for PIP though. I'll check it out.

Hey thanks for the help with the PIP effect. Now, should i be rendering my files in any certain way when i get ready to save my movie? Im a stickler for the quality of a video, but i do know that keeping file size down is important too....Any suggestions?? I use fraps to record.
