TeamSpeak2 + BF2 = fluctuating ping.....why?

Hey guys, this started about 3 weeks ago. When ever I am playing and TS is on, I get crazy fluctuating pings, anywhere from 55 - 900. This fluctuating ping gets progessively worse when more people join TS. The ping is so bad that gameplay is impossible and I only hear bits and pieces of people talking on TS. Can anyone give me any ideas? Un/re-installed BF2 to no avail. Un/re-install TS2 to no avail. Thanks in advance for the help. If I turn off TS then gameplay is fine.

AMD FX-53, 7800GS, 3 Gig Ram, 250HD, cable internet. Internet cable from modem connects to my linksys router (WRT54GS) and then from there to my computer.

Are you hosting the ts server on your machine?

TS should only use a couple of Kbps, I have never heard of TS making pings go high. This may be a long shot but have you tried disableing VIOP?

it depends what codec the server is using. As an admin for a TS2 we had problems with BF2 and CSS pings shooting up. I adjusted the codec to speedx thing and havnt had a problem since.

Also i beleave theres an option in the settings to adjust how much bandwidth it takes!

My friends had the same problem, he bought another gig of ram which fixed the fluctuations

I downloaded the latest nvidia driver (84.26) from guru3d.com and my video card has been reborn. I now can play on all high settigns and so far with TS on, there are no lag spikes. Thanks for your repsonses fellas.
