BF2 says that this is corrupt... Please Help

Hi im HeartBeatZ
every time i start or close BF2 a message in the bottom right corner pops up and reads.

~e5.0001 - corrupt file
The file or directory C:\$Mft is corrupt and unreadable please run the Chkdsk utility

how do i fix this other than running ChkDsk

Are you using a compacted drive?

If not, reset your default temp directory. (System Properties, Advanced tab, Environment Variables) The default should be "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp" (without the " ").
