Patch Problem

As ive just changed machine, my bf2 isnt up to date.

I went to the ea site, and tried downloading the 1.03 patch. The link to the download on the ea server wasnt working, but there is another link to teh patch.

I downloaded it (438mb), and installed. I get an error when installing, but it also says succesful install.

When I run the game, on startup I get a "cant find a shader" error.

Any help?

you need to get 1.3 not 1.03.....and you may aswell just wait for 1.4 to come out its like 24 hours hopefully....save a 480 mb d/w and then another tommrow...

I had the same problem and I was wondering , do you have any other battlefields, like euroforce or armored fury, special forces? If you do then I would recomend a complete uninstall and reinstall in this order...BF2+BF2 SF+ patch 1.3+ euro+1.3+armored+1.3,,,I had to write a letter to EA to get this info, it took two weeks for me to get a reply, but I only get minimal crashes now LOL hope this helps you

Ive tried uninstalling and repatching, with 3 different downlaods of the patch.

The game runs fine when installed off the cd, but an error occurs during 1.3 installation and just ****s up.

I even deleted all registry files after uninstall, and still no joy!

Why cant i install 1.3???

Have you tried this:

Go to your BF2 directory (If you installed the game with the Default settings it is: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 )
Check if your folder called 'Shaders' is empy,
if it is empty go to the folder called 'Shaders_Client' (Note: this is a .zip file)
copy ALL the files to your folder 'Shaders', restart the game.

Tried that dude, no joy.

Plus there isnt a lighting file in that zip file.

Got rid of that error, I managed to get it patched to version 1.12.

Now it just crashes straight to desktop!!!
