    Maps Autoinstaller/Downloader

I used to play 21st Century Warfare and I remember from those days that 21CW have a nice little app to get the maps for the servers and auto install those maps. Since BF2 does not come with an autodownload feature (like every Quake 3 Engine Based Game), it will be very nice to have this kind of tool to promote mods or mappacks, For example, I as an administrator have an FTP full of maps for my server, so if the ppl wants to keep his game up to date to play on my server, they run this app and get the new maps for the server and then.. just play.

Anyone knows something similar to this, or knows how to program it? Will be the nicest contribution for the modding and mappers community.

But that would encourage mapmaking and people playing in unranked servers so DICE wouldn't get as much money on the ranked status fee. Have you no heart?

DICE is supporting ABR, a ranking system for mods and a free vanilla bf2 ranking system, so I'm really not sure about that sarcasm... with the new mods comming out and specially FH2, this will transform the BF2 game on a 'mods' game... bf2142 will be the hot bread on the oven so vanilla bf2 will loose a lot of interest for a huge amount of players.

Supporting it so hard they tried to tell the community it was the reason their bf2 brashed.

I tell you.. with 1.4 there is a full explicit recognition for ABR as the only alternative ranking system... Mods now can use the 'benefits' of a custom made ranking system (as BFpirates announce a couple of days ago.. also Reality Mod has it since forever, USI, OPK, and the list keeps getting bigger).. So, the ppl who is going to stick with BF2 and the mods for a while have to start thinking in ways to get a better 'game quality'... that is the bottom line idea I'm trying to express here (sorry for my crappy english).. a map/mod downloader will be an exelent proyect.
