Its not free, also there is no network support so no multiplayer games. This isnt for your avarage person though its not a game maker type thing, this is for indi game developers.

edit: I should also mention that you cant distribute games as a compiled program you have to give away your source code and all the game assets so people can download them and compile it themselfs.

The more we talk about it it sounds like garbage. Its expensive, no multiplayer, and very difficult. I'm done. They should have made something decent

I have a feeling it will probably be under one of there "we own you" licences but we will have to wait and see.

as soon as someone makes a decient game microsoft will probbaly have all rights too it and distribute it w/o the makers permission and the maker will get not money or recognition

That wouldn't be possible. Anyway XNA framework for XBOX 360 development isn't something to get excited about, its not even in the first release anyway. However, it will be useful for development on Windows XP, which is where it will really help speed up development.
