Who in there right mind would change the hit ratio like in Infantry only mode, and the one on the regular game. It is a bit hard(not really) everytime they release a patch you have to kind of relearn how to play, and now lets say you play infantry only, and then go to a all out war map???? We are going to have to adjust almost everytime. Trust me guys you will see what i am talking about when the new patch gets here.

P.S. The sprint bar thing too, not much should really change from infantry only to full game mode. Well except the vehicles being missing, but player charateristics should stay the same.

IO is a horible idea i will not play it the vehicles were one of the reasons i bought bf2 most FPS are just infantry. the jets,heles,and vehicles make bf2 unique.

There will be normal server and IO server ..

This is what i keep trying to say to everyone. IO is a game mode. It won't affect the way you all play the game.

I'm a groundpounder and i love fighting against infantry only. But guess what? What if i get bored and want to fight against vehicles again? I'll just be able to switch back to the normal BF2 servers. Simple.

i for one, think IO is a great idea. no more smacktards waiting for the jet, no more flaghopping the last flag using helis or cars. Teamwork will be much better than with vehicles. Although the game is more fun with vehicles, Its great to have some alternative, especially since there is only 1 mode of gameplay. its good to have somewhere to play for a while when you get tired of tanks and helos killing you.

And by 'teamwork' you mean having squads of 6 medics each running around the map trying to kill the enemy's team's 6-man medic squads?

Not ALL servers will be IO! It's a "mode".

Don't you get it, not everyone in the world likes to play YOUR style of playing, that's why there are so many servers, and why we are free, to a certain extent, to have rules on servers.

The simple solution is; Don't play on servers that have rules, maps (whatever) that you don't like. This is a 2 fold solution:

1.) You are happy cause you don't have to play a certain style or have rules imposed on you.
2.) Other people are happy to not have to listen to you complain about gameplay, maps (whatever) or rules.

It's a simple solution folks, only play on servers you like, and don't try to be a dictator and change ALL the servers or out there you don't like.

Is it that hard to understand?

i'm playing both if i get sick of one WOW i can CHANGE SERVERS! NO WAY! i never thought this was possible and look at this VEHICALS! NO CHANGES TO GAME PLAY FROM 1.3! wow! amazing....

I still fail to see why people would by Battlefield 2 and then want to play a mode where all the vehicles are removed. Then again, if all purchasing was done by smart consumers then 80% of businesses would probably go bankrupt.

My problem is that this 'mode' has been available since day one June 2005
all it required was for people to play for fun and not for points - ie the unranked servers. Apparently that was too much for some people to get their heads around

no i mean, there wont be any people int he spawn waiting for a jet, people will stay in packs since the squad leaders are the quickest way to get to the fighting, boats will actually be full and usuful, making the naval aspects of the map very important. And yes, there will be alot of point whoring and medics, but i think it wouldnt be significant compared to the awesome infantry assaults on flags, people shooting up the coast with boats, and squads working as a group to flank people.

Atleast thats the things i experienced in the 1.4 BETA2 infantry only server. If only there were more than 32 players..:p

There will be nothing these macro abusing medic squads will fear on IO servers!! They ought to rename them Medic Only servers.
Another exploit unearthed before the patch is released!
