you are correct elbryan.

however they don't have to play an entire round - just join a game and score one point. then they can quit.

u just ask them for their password

u can keep multiple accounts on your copy of BF2.

i have 5 accounts on my laptop. 2 are mine, 2 are friends, and 1 is for the 8 yr old neighbor.

In what sense?:) The reason it works is that the unlocks were added to the vanilla game in the patches so you don't need SF to have the weapon code. All you need to do is have the account server see that your account has played SF and it well tell your copy of BF2 that you can unlock SF weapons and receive two unlocks per rank whenever you login with that account.

the special forces weapons r very useful so buying special forces is worth it

All you need to do is have the account server see that your account has played SF and it well tell your copy of BF2 that you can unlock SF weapons and receive two unlocks per rank whenever you login with that account.

so if i log my account in on a friends computer he will get sf unlocks?

OMG are you all retard?
There are 2 person ..
[A] - He has only BF2 (no SF unlocks)
[B] - He has BF2 and SF.

A can unlock his weapons .. in which way?
B log in with A's account (in SF obviously), make a round (or less) and then he quits.
When A rejoin into his own account, BF2 will say:" You have x more unlocks" (where x are the unlocks that you have already obtained during the gameplay on BF2, if you have them).

Clear?

Only if he plays on your account. The unlocks are tied to your account, not what's installed on your computer. If your account has SF unlocks you can use them no matter what computer you use (as long as it has at least patch 1.10 installed).
