Ok, WTF? Crash when pressing "Join"?

I've known that alot of people had this problem, but I've never had it. Until today. I opened up BF2, joined a server. When it finished loading, it said that USMC won along with music of victory, then it went to the game, stuttered, then closed. I tried again, but pressing the Join button = crash to desktop.

I played for hours yesterday just fine, and I never changed a single thing in my harddrive. What might be causing this?

Yeah, that started happening to me a couple days ago. I reinstalled the 1.3 full patch, and everythings fine now.

You've been pretty lucky I guess. Lots of people have been getting it since 1.3

This is a problem since 1.3's release. Fixed in 1.4

Oh, okay, I found a fix in the Stickies. :p

Sorry, should have read them first.


The fix is going into C:\EA Games\Battlefield 2\Support\Battlefield2_code.exe


Retype your CD Key in there, then re-apply the 1.3 patch. It should all work then. Mine worked. :)

all you need to do is 1.3 nothing else...

Not exactly true. For me the 1.3 patch caused the CTD. Prior to the latest patch it never happened.

just dont click join game let it auto load works every time.
