Some questions

Hey, I have some questions to ask :)

1. Due to the lack of support in Dual-Core processors, everytime I enter the game I have to go to Task Manager, set affinity to BF2.exe and uncheck CPU 1.
Is there a way so everytime I enter the game it will be done automatically?

2. Again, is there a way so game.lockfps 0 and renderer.drawfps 1 will be enabled automatically?

3. Any other command-line lists except for this one:

4. And please write down your preffered / most useful missile evading maneuvers (jets).
Oh, and my English is not my native tongue as you surely already noticed, so terms like "barrel-roll" and others ive seen in the forums are not quite understood to me. So please add some description after those terms.

not sure about 1 or 2 and i think thats all there is on tweakguides and my fav maneuvers is to just fly straight up and then do a quick turn

Yeah, sounds good. The hostile jet is surprised by you from going up, but if he makes it to follow you are not there.
Mine is clicking down+right, to avoid missiles, then go up and just trying things.
Any others?

i have added the lines;

renderer.drawfps 1
game.lockfps 999

im writing about the .con file from memory, on my lappy now, but i think thats the file i have those in.

maybe read only the file after also.

PROBLEM!!!

Ok, I downloaded the prioaff files, extracted to c:\windows\prioaff, made a shortcut of the exe to the desktop, added in the shortcut target the desirable lines, than went to D:\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Init.con and added:
game.lockfps 0
renderer.drawfps 1
at the bottom, saved and quit.
Activated the game, CTRL ALT DEL to verify everything is as planned and yes.
I created a server in the "Multiplayer" tab, and how wonderful, the fps counter was there and above 100. yay.
So I joined a server, and it says modified content bla bla bla.

I went again to this topic, and saw UltrAdamSki has editted his post not to go to Init.con, but to yes {drive letter}:\Documents and Settings\{name}\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\Profile.con.

I opened Init.con, and the lines weren't there. WTF. I guess I forgot to save....
Well I opened Profile.con, added those lines, went back to the same server and again modified content.

I deleted the lines from Profile.con, saved, deleted the target line from the bf2.exe shortcut about the prioaff, entered the same server and I still get the modified content message.

HELP!! I reverted anything back like what it was before I messed around with prioaff and the init.com / profile.con, and it still gives me this message!!

If I add one space to a game-file, does the server counts it as modified content?

I don't wanna unintall everything, you don't know how many things ive done to make this game without major problems.
I mean if there is no other solution than reintall everything ill do it, of course.

ok, first off, yeah i was working off memory with that initial post like i said in that post, but i edited it when i got back to my box, ok, so you changed init.con


now you are getting modded content error.

i will paste contents of my init.con if thats a help:

try that. but to answer your question, it shouldt have you for an extra white space or something at the end of a setting, its not that stringent, its if you omitt, change, modify something it scans for. so in theory if you copy and paste that back in and save the yuou are good to go

but just to clarify, prioaff wont have anything to do with modded content

let me know how you get on. shouldnt be anything major, but i know what you mean about not wanting to reinstall, nightmare!!!!!

p.s. make sure your init.con file in your bf2 mods dir is NOT read only, this could be the cause, but make sure the profile.con is read only to save your lock and fps settings

hey i have a x2 4600 and i dont need to set affinity to run bf2, mine works fine on both cores, how are you having this problem?

@ UltrAdam, sorry I was too desperate so I unintalled and reintalled everything, now works fine.
I don't want to mess with these things again, I want to rest a bit from problems!! lol

@absolut: Well you are luckey, if you will search a bit you will see many AMD x2 users experience this problem. Good for you :)


Hey adam, do you think if i will backup the init.con file before doing anything with it, than mess up with it and get the content message, than replace the editted one with the backup, will it consider it as original and won't do me problems?

just out of curiosity what does bf2 do when both cores are set and it is only useing one of them? does it lag???

Most of the victims to this problem get kicked from any server they join to, with "you connection to the server has been lost" message. Solves 100%, the the other events with this problem is not becuase the game does not supprt x2's, but because the server etc.

YES that is fine, it treats as original i have many copies of .con files strewn about the place called copy of nameofcon.con and if i ever get into any trouble, back they go

man that really sucks!!! thats no good, how do you get by with that? mind you i am still getting kicked from kubra dam for like last 3mths for modded content, but not on any other map, strange.

i liked kubra too :-(

It takes like 5 seconds to do that... I'm just lazy.

Kubra is a kick *** map, you should revert to the original files too, the "price" you pay for it is to high IMO.

you joke, but it feels like it does depend on it at mo!

well heres the thing, i havent altered any files THAT I KNOW OF, i have a completely separate mirrored directory for all that lark. thats whats bugging me, and only on that map too, youd think if it was some edited file that all maps would boot me, but nope.

anyway i have a feeling its just one of those things until a patch sorts it out, a full patch.
