I experienced a decent increase in load times going from 1Gb-->1.5GB. Although I also did a zero-write of my HDD....

Sorry to hear that dude, one would hope for a decrease.

In game... Not much change at all.

Load times.... Noticable change for better.

Quit game to desktop... From 30 seconds of watching my frozen desktop while the BF2 music played, to an instant quit to desktop.

Worth the money for this?... Yes,because the extra gig from one to two
makes my pc purr.

it's all to do with ya vurtal memory ! the more vurtal memory you got the faster your programs/games are gonna run !

Keep in mind that there are very, very few new MOBO's being made to support ddr. question is whether or not ~$100-200 (couldn't figure out if you were going to have to buy 2 sticks or one) for ddr that will give you a nicer gaming experience now is worth having to buy another ~$200 in ddr2 later, just to get back to 2gb.

btw, that's an excellent o'c on your xl's mem. what are your temps like, and how are you cooling it? i ordered an artic ati silencer 1.0 rev .2 for my x800xt aiw, but am waiting on some ramsinks to come in. also hoping that exhausting the hot air outside the case will help a tad. currently, if i o'c my memory any more than 30mhz above stock (1000mhz), I get artifacts.

with cpu's so cheap now i'd say you'd be better getting a new one. you can get a 3700+ for £70 or £130 will get you a X2 4200+

(Iv'e virtually confused myself now.

But surely it's pysical because you pysically have 2 gigs of memory. Virtual
because of the space in your hard drive.
