I wonder if it will really be like that or they bump it up like crazy.

I hope you like slow-paced, annoying shooters! Sure BIA is incredibly realistic and all that nonsense, but its no fun to play and no one plays multiplayer. CoD2 is an incredibly immersive, fun singleplayer game that lets you play in 4 campaigns taking you to Russia, Germany, Normandy, North Africa and more. There are thousands online at all times and numerous custom maps if you get bored of the originals. You made a profound mistake if you got BiA.

Slow paced? It is as intense as Call of duty, wich i've been playing since 2003, so don't even start with it being 'more intense'. Cod2 isn't nearly as immersive as Brothers in arms, and to say it's not as intense if just pretty dumb. From jumping on D-day:

to charging mg42 nests in smoke..

While Cod2 follows different soldiers in different armies, you don't get enough time to know the people you fight with. Through brothers in arms you do get to know the people, there is an actual STORY to the game. The only thing that's better in cod2 is it's online, wich i can easily say is it's best part about the game. Oh, and IGN, Gamespot, and plenty of other sites gave Brothers in arms a higher rating than Call of duty 2. Point is the game has a story, is authentic, and is much more realistic, and keeps up with the action. Cod2 is a 'hollywood' shooter so to say, with a flashy presentantion and not much meat under it, but a run and gun shooter. The online is the only thing that's been keeping me back playing the game. The end result of your enemy is alwase great as well, because bia uses rag doll physics and limbs blow off, unlike the scripted deaths in cod2.

You made a great choice by picking up Brothers In arms...

I dont know if you could really call ET a ww2 'game'. It's more like a striped down version of rtcw with worse graphics. I definately wouldnt compare it to any of the cod games.

I've played most of the WWII series except BIA just because it has Starforce. Are there 2 of them right now? Does the latest one have Starforce?

What's Starforce? And yes there are 2 now, Road to hill 30, and Earned in blood.

All you need to know about Starforce. Starforce is a copy protection system that both screws with Windows and optical drives. You have to pretty much reformat and reinstall to get rid of it since it's still left behind after you uninstall the game. Ubisoft in the past has been using it. But decided to stop with all the backlash from gamers. But the older products still have it and it isn't going to be removed.

Like I said, BiA does alot of stuff well. But when it comes down to it, the shooting mechanics are so realistic that it isn't fun to play. You pretty much have your squad supress the enemy while you go around to get close enough to where you can actually hit something. Rinse and repeat that same thing for 8-10 hours... bbbbbbboring, the so called "story" dosen't make up for anything.

CoD2's gameplay is solid, refined, and incredibly fun.

Well I have COD2 and im playing Singleplayer again, its really good the battles are intence its not just one shoot off, you have to use your head, well I play my singleplayer games on the hardest difficulty, so you get shot and you are critically hurt, shot again your dead. Enemies are hard and use their head. You need to work with your squad if you run out trying to go Serious Sam then you won't last long.

The graphics of COD2 are solid, and they look better than those of Brothers in Arms, from looking at those screenshots. The multiplayer is pretty good even though I haven't played much of it.

I reconmend Vietcong, the first one. I know its not a WW2 shooter but its real good. It was made 3 years ago so the graphics aren't the best in the world but for its time they are good. The weapons are great you have the Mosin-Nagen, M1 Garand, Winchester, Balkai Shotgun, Remington Shotgun, AK-47, M16, SVD Dragnov, Colt etc thats off the top of my head, but theres alot more weapons then that. The singleplayer is very good and re-playable many times, the battles are good and the hitboxes are one of the best I've seen. AI is pretty intelligent, if your having a shoot off and your behind something, they will sneak round while there troops are shooting at you, they sneak round past the trees and surprise you.
