    New use for Cartillary

Someone may have already had this idea, but it is new to me and wanted to post it up for some feedback.

Here's the scenario: The roadway is blocked by enemy mines, preventing armor and transports from getting through to support ground troops. Would it be a viable use of cartillary to drop a vehicle on a mine to detonate it, thus clearing the path for the armor?

    Just a thought.

No that wouldnt work as someone on your team has to be in that vehicle, what i tend to do and if im not an engineer and the armour on my team needs to get some where is ill get in a vod or hummer and drive over them clearing the way for them :p

As of now empty vehicles detonate mines, so I think that would work.

Yeah and who really knows for sure when that will come and if it will be harder?

empty vehicles detonate mines if they are over the mine and are moved...ie shoot it with a tank shell or nudge it with another vehicle etc. im not sure if just dropping it directly on top of a mine would constitude detonating it

Once I placed some mines around a flag, but the tank that roll in noticed them and found a clear path to the flag... my commander dropped a car on the tank tha slipped down from it right on the mine... BOOM, I got the kill

It does work and I've been doing it for awhile.
Moving empty vehicles DO set off mines.
If you're lucky and the mines have been placed badly, you can clear a couple with one drop.

I even used voice to warn a SL that he was headed for mines and to stand by for a moment while I cleared him a path. He was rather impressed, I think.

You can jump out of the vehicle before and have it roll over the AT mines.

A moving empty vehicle will explode AT mines and Claymores.

I dropped a claymore then the our commander dropped a vehicle on a hill...the vehicle slid down and the Claymore exploded. Same goes for AT mines when you drop a vehicle on them or roll over them while empty.

Test it before you say its not possible.

as quoted above they do clear mines and have been using it for a long time.

Maybe, cus f u jump out of a vehicle and it runs over mines they detonate, so u don't have to be in it.
But u gotta drop it so the wheels exactly hit the mines.
