MP7 - Your Thoughts?

Damn! I love the MP7! It's rate of fire is amazing, and it sounds bloody good too. I love just charging up to the enemy really close and opening up with it. Only problem is, there's only 3 mags which can get annoying in big firefights.

Your thoughts?

Its a good weapon in CQC and at short-medium range, an awesoume rate of fire as you've already said, a good unlock for the engi's!

Personally, I think the MP7 is a waste of unlock. Its only valuble in CQB, but a shotgun is much better. It only takes one - two shots with most shotguns to take a healthy opponent down whereas an SMG takes 6-8. Also, the MP7 isn't really different than any of the AT SMGs except that it has 40 in a clip and 3 clips, worse than the Bizon (45 per clip, 3 clips) and the P90 (50 per clip, 3 clips). Stick with the shotties would be my advice.

Definately worth the unlock. A good close-mid range alternative to the close range shotguns. Pretty accurate and pretty stable on full auto.

Although, like the shotguns, you still generally have to pick your battles when using it which may put some people off :)

If you want a good SMG go for the P90.

If I'm playing SAS I think I'd take it over the Jackhammer but on other levels in vanilla I don't feel the urge to get the MP7, the P90 feels better IMO.

MP7 is an awesome weapon, too bad the engie class, or should I say the point whoring ability of the Engie class is worthless, otherwise this Kit would be popular. P90 is my favorite weapon though.

Can someone post a screenie of the mp7,cas in a firefight all i hear is a "brrrrrrrr" then im dead, i look at who owned me and its a guy with a mp7.

The Mp7 is the only SMG that I think is not quite, but close to worthless. Why? Zoom in (zoom meaning using the iron sites) and it's the only gun in the game to have normal but side recoil making it cumbersome to use. When firing the gun while not zoomed it is half as accurate as all the other SMGs. In most cases I've noticed that the PP-19 seems to be the best all around SMG for using with the MP5 right behind it. The P90 is decent but sometimes the accuracy of it makes me wonder why it isn't higher.

MP7 is good. It's as good as a pistol from mid to long range. For close range only advantage of it over a shotgun is a bigger clip. But since it's probably only 9mm not very powerful you might only be able to kill one more guy at a time then you could with a shotgun. A shotgun and pistol combo in a firefight would be just as good. This thing seems to run out of ammo quickly. The rate of fire is good. It can pretty much stand up to an AK if you both go prone at the same time or whatever. I've found it's not really meant for extended periods of combat. I barely use it in SF since the engineer shotguns are the most powerful for CQ. I would say only unlock it if it's your last unlock.

The Mp7 saved me many a time, but against the Ak101 at range, forget it.

That Brrr you hear while dying is only half the clip with the last half to go. =)
The best thing is once I get that MP7 on target with the crosshairs going... hold the button down, the other person literally is too busy processing the many bullet hits to bunny hop or do anything but stand there and die.

MP-7 is an alright gun. I rarely play Engineer so i rarely use it.
