question about 1.4 release

Hi,

When i first started playing bf2 (2months ago) 1.3 was already out, so my question is should i update immediately after the release or is it smart to wait awhile as i want to be able to play on the servers i currently do. how long before all the servers move over? is it the same day or how does it work?

Hi there mate.

Ranked servers are updated immediately by the server providers.

You'll need to update to 1.4 to continue playing on ranked servers.

It depends on where you are i think. For me in Hong Kong the lowest ping (ranked) servers are in Singapore, Korea and Taiwan. These, in the past, have taken nearly a week to move to the new version. I have made the mistake before of updating immediately and not being able to play my favorite servers. Therefore, my advice is only update once your favorite servers have updated. BTW some servers seem to update in nano seconds so.......

For the most part this is correct. Different providers will update at different intervals. Depending on what provider and if they are on the ball that is. You should patch when it comes out, but there is no supreme rush to patch. There are usually plenty of servers available after a patch is released for up to 3-4 weeks.
