cant connect

hello, i have recently purchased BF2 and installed the 1.3 patch. when i try to create an account to play online i get the error message "server refused connection" or something to that effect. I am behind a linksys firewall and have configured that to allow all the ports required by BF2 to run over the net.

Is there something i am missing? i have also tryed retrieving account because the EA site said it might be an issue if i have a gamespy account already made, but that does not work either....

please help me out so i can start ranking up.

It happened to me once and I could not solve it but it went by itself after couple of hours. Just try logging in later or reinstall bf2(dont apply patch) and try connecting if it worked apply patch 1.3 full. Good luck

i tried unpatched and patched, it didnt connect either way.

Try repatching. Check Linksys's home page for hardware flash updates to your router. Try setting your game computer in the DMZ router zone just for a test hookup to a game server.

Close ur modem or router restart ur pc and turn it on. if it did not work. Scan using anti spyware and AV and dont forget to shut down your firewall and antivirus when playing bf2.

do you have all the ports correctly opened? try going hear , search for your router model and then goto bf2 it will show u steps on how to open the specific ports for bf2.

it just happened to me. i blocked those ports lastnite. you need to open the game's port. 2990 i think

thank you for all the replies, like a dope i had peergaurdian running and forgot to shut it off, i shut it off and it works fine....
