not many low-rankers know how to exploit the game with the pronespam crouch/prone combos or macros.

On the contrary, how many high-ranking players get their stats reset for hacking/cheating/exploiting... they then have to start all over again.

i think u should be able to. if u want to play with others of high rank that is a win win situation. u win because u wont have any "noobs" bothering u, and the "stripers" win because we dont have people in our game crying "hacker" everytime they get shanked by a Pfc. or shot down by a Staff Sgt. in a F35.

once again the big mistake almost everyone who has posted has made is equating rank with skill. i must say if u derive ur self-confidence and arrogence from ur rank i recommend taking some Enzyte. if u think some brass on ur shoulder makes u a better player or person in general, u are sadly mistaken.

btw I have seen a server "noob4ever" that stated in the server rules: we kick anyone with rank higher than First Sergeant.

We have read dozens of threads belittling highed rank players, but even suggest a "officers only" server, & you start WW3

I wonder why?

For the record

I consider myself an above average "gound pounder" as assault, or support, I am a "nice" medic, OK in the heli as pilot, or gunner, NICE in the tank, an average pilot, & a great bomber gunner, I am really good commander

Where I "shine" is using experience, & leadership to lead a team or squad to victory

High k/d's are nice, & a I am steadly working to improve them, but if I have to die a few times to take an important flag (while others play it safe), or to defend the main base to secure a close win I am happy to do it

& I have 1800+ defended flags to prove it

No what I said was that a large minority of your rank is derived from your time on Karkand and using a Tank. Will you not even admit to that? Its obvious from the stats why your rank is so high. Not saying thats bad, you wanna play Karkand that long have fun, but if you took that portion of the stats away you would not be quite the rank you are now.

Not sure what is utterly foolish about this, as the proof is directly in front of you and anyone who reads it.

On a personal note:
Jesus your an arrogant bastard, this is a game dude. Your rank means shi*. It means you have put in the hours to get there and hey good for you. Im never gonna be at your level rank wise because I have to many other real world diversions to put 1600hrs into a game. Doesnt mean Im not just as good a player as you or anyone else, just means I have other things to do.

I dont TK with nades ever, because I never use them unless Im in a position where you wont die but the enemy will. If you come outta nowhere and my nade kills you then you weren't paying attention. Ive played this game competively (albiet with aless than able team), Ive adminned tourneys and ladders, played alot of the mods and generally spent a lot of time outside the game itself. I know a lot and Im a very profiecient player (More so since I stepped down from my ladder and tourney duties). For you to say its my fault for your mistakes is the foolish part.

1. Dude, I put my required time in to earn 24 "Expert Badges", if you have a problem w/ that, you have a problem w/ BF2

& unlike you, if I kill a friendly w/ a 'nade, I can "own up" to my mistake

Since my team only plays for fun I would of asked you and your team to join our server, but since it would be a loss to us I wont.

Try and join DLOGIC server were they have some good, not great players, but they know how to use teamwork.

Before they nerf'd the requirements for general (for n00bs) you had to spend 400 hrs. in armour to earn the Expert Armour Badge

It is "painfully obvious" that I play ALL roles in BF2, & it is my goal to be GOLD in EVERYTHING

Here in the safety of the forums n00bs say rank does not matter, but if I had a dime for every time low ranked players cried for the teams to be balanced, just because my high ranked friends, & I were "squaded up" on TS I would retire today wealthy man

I don't know why all the officers think they can own the lower ranks. I've seen a few people who are lower ranked than I and they are the best people I've ever seen. Poppin off perfect headshots while using trees and hills as perfect cover, its like a clinic. I've killed a few Colonels and higher in my enlisted time, most of them just have more time in the game and therefore are better. If I spent that much time playing I would own too. Take RD Volx for example. I've played with him on StrafeRight.com many times and he's the biggest prone spamming dolphin diving bunnyhopper I've seen in the history of BF2. He even spams the prone/crouch combos when he's not in combat, just in case. I've taken him out about 4 times out of about 400 chances, because the prone/crouch screws up the hitboxes, but he's played over 1500 hours as a support, so he must be getting pretty good at the kit. Lots of the higher ranks also get their promotions and O-club pass in a plane/tank, and don't have much skill with an actual weapon. Rank doesn't mean much in this game IMO, which makes me mad that some of the worst commanders keep getting the position because they have 2 stars.

Skill w/ vehicles (actual weapons too) means a lot "in this game", because this is a game w/ vehicles

If you left BF2 to play an all infanrty game then vehicle skill would then be irrelavent

You guys that thin only ground pounders have skill are funny, try to have skill in everything

If you want to play matches against good competition where no-one accidentally tk's you with grenades (or at least very rarely), join a clan, and play clan matches.

Clan matches are FAST! Everyone knows what to do, and you're always playing against experienced players.

Ive gone up against every rank and have seen high ranked good players and high ranked players who couldnt get a kill out of their plane if they were in a box of enemys. Just silly.

I find it harder to kill 60k plus people honestly, be it in the air or on the ground.
I have about 900 hours in the game, 400 on Kark pounding the other 500 are pounding and flying jets or driving tanks..so Ive pretty much seen it all.
Im no medic whore or whore of any type..Ive got 200+ hours as support and spec ops, so Ive paid my dues as far as accumulating points go. Out of my
48K total kills 35K have been pounding the ground..so I think i can say who and what ranks strike me as better with guns/class weapons.
I have about 6.5k kills in both Planes and Tanks, 100+ plane hours and 75+ tank hours..and guess what..usually 60K plus point guys give me the most grief.

All Im saying is, Ive paid my dues..Ive played all my kits..Ive played every vehicle (cept choppers..I R teh suck!) Sure Id like to play more "ranked" games not on Kark, but I favor infantry (not medic whoring/nade spamming( only 1600 in 900 hours so maybe 1-2 an hour?)
And in all this time of me stickign to the ground or testing the waters with other types of combat I can honestly say 90% of the time higher ranks are more competition..I DIDNT SAY 100% of the time!! just MOST of the time.

Im no whore, Im just tryign to be a well rounded player accumulating 100 hours in every vehicle, class, map, gun etc.. and along the way I see trends and many many players..and to be honest Officers or higher usually pose a bigger challenge.

I looked at your stats, you look like an average player. I started hanging around the DLOGIC 64server, you should try it out against thier team.

This is my first online fps, I started this game a noob, & was getting murdered, now look @ my stats in BF2Tracker for the last month

True but by the time the general ranks were added and dumbed down, those guys had already surpased the points needed to make general. Even if they got the badges now they would still be stuck at Colonel because of that.



Yeah I played against Volx a couple of times and I wasn't really all that impressed. You're right about many of the high ranking guys using vehicles as an easy ticket for points. I've made a point to balance out practially all of the small arms weapons and get at least 1,000 kills for all of them with the exception of the Shock Paddles and n00b t00b. It has nothing to do with ego, but a sense of knowing that I can use any weapon or kit depending on what the team needs most at any given situation.

Heck the best guys I've run into frown at the idea of using unlocks and have started new accounts posing as new players.

You are not stuck @ Colonel if you make the requirements later

Butcher, tell me something, does rank really reflect persons skill, or are there other kind of information? Tell me, does rank show how good a person is, or hwo good they are to find means to score as much as possible (ie. medics in Karkand, support in Karkand, tanks in Karkand, J10 on Wake, Su-34 on Oman et cetera). Im sure you want an increased constant and regular level of high skill in your server. Which is why I propose you create a non-ranked server with sign "High-skill" in its name. Moders probably has a wide base of regulars and Im sure that can be used as a base to populate the high-skill server?

Again though, Ive seen people exceed me in rank, in fact vast majority of people who exceed me in rank, suck balls. And Ive jusr recently started to become "good" on land with a 2.0 KDR. Well, as for jets... thats a solid story.

Then we have privates who can play better than some high rankers, weaon wielding wise, but they dont use "pointwhoring" tactics so they stay in the shadows. So you cant really separate people by their rank.

Rank undenialbly means 1 thing, I don't have to suufer a dead beat commander more than 1 round:p

Rank means something apparently, bro. If you watch 90% of the lower ranked players First Sgt on down, usually are clueless. I have on occasion ran into a high ranked captain, that will be a complete noob at what hes doing. Most of the time they are german, or something. (No offense to germans, or any other country.) I try to be nice and give people a turn if I die, but you will run into that little Gunnery Sgt, that just doesn't not know when to admit defeat.
Theres always that guy who has the Hind, when you join who is hovering around, because if he goes forward he crashes, so hes hovering around hopeing his 'nooby' gunner will do something. Then he dies, and hes right back at the pad. Its just apart of this game for some reason, that someone thinks they are good, when in reality they are the worst, and are just taking up an asset.

As an engi he's pretty good, but any diver with a PKM is good. Can you say Tank whore? This is where the majority of his points came from. To say otherwise is ignorant. So maybe not 50% but take away the Karkand and you have an average player at best. Take away the tank whoring and you have not such an average player. Not real hard to decipher.

Really though the point isnt whether he's a good player, matter of fact Im sure he is a fine player.(After 1600hrs he outta be) Its more about his arrogance and ego at what is essentially point whoring tactics. His attitude toward other players without these stats is abhorable. In my mind, that makes him a lousy player.
