You can but don't expect a more fun game. Many of the high ranked players are no better than the sergeant ranks. Most of the are vehicle whores/nade spammers, and few of them are really actually good.

I disagree, I haven't run into any Generals, Or Colonels that weren't "competitive"

Im a private, and Ive been a private sense I got this came back in 2005, I have NEVER played for points, I play for fun. Who gives a damn about some srupid ribbon or crappy unlock. Your playing this game for the wrong reason if the only way you can have fun is being able to earn something from it

So you have played this game for a year and haven't gotten more than a few hundred points? Either you never played it or you always played unranked mod servers.

Ranks are what keeps this game alive, and the truth is, people like it because it gives them something to work for as opposed to playing and gaining nothing. People may disagree with me but strongly believe, that without the ranks, this game would be less of what it is now.

Of course playing for fun is most important, but who said trying to rank up wasn't fun?

you guys make it sound like you are God or something. most of the people who are lower ranks are pretty good imo. Quite a few of the officers that I see just use vehicles to get their points, so if you had an officers only server then you wouldnt have enough vehicles to make everyone happy. this would make everyone team kill for stuff or there would just be huge lines waiting for the stuff to re-appear.. doesnt sound like a lot of fun to me.

Thruthfully, I see more "1-stripers" fighting over vehicles than any 1 else

i think its fun to play for the rank, gives that little edge that you want to achieve, might be a bit OTT in some ppl's opinions but each to his/her own.

would be a good laugh, in few a weeks tiem i could join in aswell :p

If BF2 lasts for another five years everyone will be generals. I say let the server admins run their servers as they see fit. Generals Only..okay. Gunneys only... fine... Clan members only... great. I have a multitude of server choices.

If BF2 lasts for another five years everyone will be generals. I say let the server admins run their servers as they see fit. Generals Only..okay. Gunneys only... fine... Clan members only... great. I have a multitude of server choices.

lol if BF2 lasts another 5 years everyone will be Colonels because most people aren't the greatest at flying.-=RD=-Volx and {TA}FireStorm have the most points but aren't generals because they are missing their expert chopper and flight badges.

i hope to make the general rank, workign slowly towards expert aviator and heli.


thats why i dont understand how Volx can be top of the rankings as he isn't the highest rank, i know he's got the highest amount of points but i think the highest scoring general should be the top guy

Both, I don't think anyone gives a rat's *** about either. But it's much easier to ignore mine.
