    4200+/New Mobo & BF2

    Hi.
I recently reformatted and installed my new X2 Dual Core 4200+ and ASUS A8V Deluxe. I installed BF2, then BF2:SF and then applied the FULL 1.3 patch.

The first time I tried logging in to my BF2 account, it lagged like crazy when trying to login to the account server. I concluded that this was my firewall. I then rebooted, disabled my firewall and then tried BF2. It went all the way to JOIN GAME yet then my monitor reported "AGP Signal out of range"... My computer then rebooted. I then tried BF2 again without a firewall and... it just stuck in task manager, taking 50%(100% of 1st core) of my CPU. I saw the splash screen, yet... nothing happened after that. I even tried opening the patch again, to patch... and it just stuck in memory...

    Specs:
    AMD Athlon 4200+ X2 Dual Core @ 2.2Ghz
    ASUS A8V-Deluxe
    2GB PC3200 DDR400 RAM
    AMD/ATi RADEON 9700PRO (Catalyst 6.7?)
    ThermalTake PurePower Butterfly 480W PSU
    1 x 80GB Western Digital Caviar 7200RPM
    1 x 300GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 7200RPM

How do I fix this? I am not having this error with anything else... ???

Maybe it is a heat problem check the cpu and VGA temprature.

                  Try Mobo @ 26C and the CPU @ 32C... Don't think it's a problem with that.

On other matters though, I'm gonna try and change the AGP Aperture settings within the BIOS... to something different, see if it makes any difference whatsoever..

This happens to bf2 only or with other games also. Also try a virus scan there might be a virus causing trouble.

I've already said it's only with BF2... only game I have installed other than Solitaire....

I reformatted hours ago. I can't possibly have a virus...

Changed the AGP Aperture in the BIOS to 128mb... nothing.

Just sits there in task manager taking up 38mb RAM and 49/50% CPU usage
