You know, if you read the last post on the EA UK forums, where it was reported that an announcement would be made today, the LAST post on the thread from a moderator suggests that it may all be a hoax.

The initial post was a fake but Colin posted in the thread saying today he would give an update to 1.4, the last post was a warning to the original poster not to make up stuff and more importantly make up stuff like it's from someone at EA.

imo they're jst hoping to clean up with this patch. not gonna change things too much (except new map nd mode). and then they gonna concentrate on bf2142

It is an announcement. They never mentioned the patch, just that they would make an announcement on Friday, one that they think we will be happy about.

So yeah it is a loaded statement open to all sorts of speculation, like this one....

They will announce that since they could fix the game they are offering refunds to gamers and issuing a $5 rebat on the purchase of BF2142. :-)
