    Re: Recording programs (NOT FRAPS) for bf2?

    i actually found that i played the smoothest with Fraps running around 60-65 FPS. It is not going to play perfect but if you mess around enough with the frame rates you can find a playable range. That was with a budget video card (ATI 9700) The files are large because they are raw AVI format and need to be rendered to a more usuable format.

      I have tried low FPS and high FPS and it still lags me down to 10 FPS

        Whats your computer specs. Fraps should work of if you have it on half the size.

            bf2 set to: 1024x768 res
            fraps set to half res 25/30fps

            if you still get low fps, defrag the disk or put fraps on a seperate hdd/partition. the hard disk speed is very important to have high fps while recording.

                1.8 athlon 64 is plenty good enough, remember theres no compression, so it takes next to no cpu power.

                    hmmm
                    instead of fraps
                    why not a vga to video connector and run it right to vcr?
                    or if you have an all in wonder card = same thing?
                    then imp0rt video back in to computer and edit away?

                            demo.recorddemo 'demoname = Start Demo and give demo a name..
                            demo.stoprecording = Stops the recording.

                            But this has nothing to do with Fraps..
                            Uhm .. this has to do with Fraps becouse you can rec your demo without fraps running in background ..
                            When you have finished to record you can play the recorded demo with frap and this won't affect the gameplay...

                              Fraps is also running super slow at my comp. is this because I got a Dual-Core processor? Or is it because my current card sucks (Almost getting my 7600GT )
