Recording programs (NOT FRAPS) for bf2?

Anyone know of any good recording programs that work with bf2? Fraps drops my FPS to 5-10 when I record with that, and the file sizes are HUGE.

I found GameCam which works GREAT....no FPS reduction and small file sizes...but punkbuster for some reason thinks it's a cheat. I got kicked for using "multiple instances of direct3d" or something.


Anyone know some recording programs that DON'T drop your FPS big time and don't leave 5 million gigs of file size for 1 second of recording?

The reason the FRAPS files are so large is because they are not compressed. ANy program you use will have large files. I'd stick with fraps.

Just compress the video into .wmv or divx when you are done recording

I can't use fraps. My FPS drop to 5-10...which means unplayable.

Try lowering your graphic detail. Fraps is power hungry.

What you need to do in Fraps have it running, but not recording and find out what your FPS is in the game, it should appear in the top left corner by default. Then exit the game, goto the fraps console and set it to record it at those similar FPS. Also select the Half screen option.

Oh...I'll try that. I run at about 50FPS ingame

You've got Gamecam but I don't know a lot about that program and how the compression is..

Sorry but ..
In Quake 3 Arena i used to type autorecord .. then stoprecord.

After I open fraps, I load the demo and I watch the demo (fraps record it).

I think there's a way to do the same thing..
demo.xxx should be used to record a demo?

Nah that's for Battlerecorder and that's a option for the server though you can do this in a local game by these commands:

demo.recorddemo 'demoname = Start Demo and give demo a name..
demo.stoprecording = Stops the recording.

But this has nothing to do with Fraps..

same here with ZD soft recorder argh
I've search for load of programs but it's hard to find some ...
to use the full version.

and fraps Is omg big. one fully round on 64 player server for me is 4 GiG olmost

set fraps to 25/30fps and half res, should be playable then.
