Theory on why F35B is such a missile magnet.

Ok, the maneuverability of the missile is virtually unlimited. You can literally make the missile fly at 90 degree angles in less than a fraction of a second of timeline, provided that the target is in missiles view. You can also shoot missiles off from the bottom of your jet, while the opposing jet is at an akward angle (still in missiles view) and the missile will follow or try to follow immediately because the lock time after launch is set to 0.01 seconds. (Which means, teh second you launch the missile, it goes after the target, in 1.0 version this time was set to 0.3)

The F35B has 4 engines, 1 of which you visually "see", but with 3 others of them hidden. I have no idea how the missiles track jets in code, so I assume the missiles track the engines. And youve got 4 engines against 1-2 that most planes have. Add F35Bs huge hitbox mesh and its sucky-sucky turn radius and youve got a problem.

If you watch closely, missiles fired at F35B are ridiculously good, which has made me think a long time ago, that this isnt just a mere "missile hit" problem. Missiles fired at F35B leave an impression of far more agile missiles. Note, again, missiles maneuverability potential is virtually unlimited with current system.

Could anyone with some knowledge on the matter comment on this?

Also, check out the progress on my experimental dogfighting mod in this topic, deals mostly with missiles aswell.

4 coded engines. Theres your primary, then theres roll engine, pitch engine and a helicopter engine, which is like the one on helos, situatied above the jet. DUCKS was the first one to notice this. Needless to say these engines are coded there, they are "invisible".

Solution: Attach a gaint postive charged magnet in the back of the f35b.

        ---> o-|--
        F35B (with giant postive magnet)
        missle (postive charges)

        Result:

        <--- o-|--

First off, the F-35B doesn't have 4 engines, it has one engine with a vectoring rear exhaust nozzle with a turbo lift fan.

          Shown Here:

          Only one Engine see:
          Turbo Lift Fan

Now about the missile part, yes the F-35B is a freaking missile magnet. I believe the F-35B is underpowered, but that is just me. The best way to avoid stingers for me is to pull my joystick in a corner to perform a corkscrew, and drop flares. Other day i spent probably a good 4-5 mintues doing corkscrew's on Fushe Pass when a j-10 was on me and stingers going off, not a single hit on my fighter.

I think he meant that it only has 4 engines in the game, to make it fly? Not in reality?

not flaming or having a go just pointing out that the US plane on FuShe pass is the F-18 Hornet not the F-35B flying death can.

my simple idea was to swap all the F-35's with F-18's, last i heard they were carrier borune, and an F-18 is loads better then the F-35 (imo, on this game)

question, do people want this fixed, or are you all just trying to figure out why this is why it is?

                          WRONG!

Latest government released issues point out that indeed F35B has 4 engines.

Answer, in order to propose fixes to the problem we have to understand how the stuff works. Otherwise you just propose random bullsh!t wouthout any knowledge on how it actually can be fixed.
