You only need 2gigs. To answer your question. AA will clean up those jagged edges, plus takes away some performance. Usually the best settings would be to have AA switched to application controlled in the Nvidia control panel and set your AA settings in BF2.

eh..4 gigs..the more the merrier..i bet in a year we'll all be complaining that 2gigs isnt enuff and ull be happy..but the 6800 mite be a bit old..but u can run all high if u want, i mite turn down shadows, dynamic lighting to medium

and antialiasing smoothes out the slanted lines that are jagged and it usually adds some blurriness

and to define aliasing, when ur computer renders a pic, it can only render in vertical or horizontal lines...so try making a slanted line using only horizontal lines...u get a lil staircase = jaggedness

if you have 32bit windows have fun making windows xp recognize all 4gb. 4gb is overkill on 32bit xp. as for bf2 i dont know how much those 2gb will actually make its not like its using all 2gb in the first place... not to mention u have to run 2t which slows down performane a tiny bit vs 1t

A tiny bit? My ram bandwidth increased by 13% just by changing from 2T to 1T. 13% is huge!

u most likely have a 32bit windows...im guessing like 99% of all xp users are using the 32bit version

jrp, bless you...that will be referring to the screens colour depth 16bit or 32 bit colour, u will want that on 32 (best looking)

is your system new? i would hate for you to have bought a 64bit hardware capable system, and to be running xp 32bit on it, let us know the specifications of it.....just to be sure :-)
