Server Question - Is this possible?

Heres the situation- My friend and I play on his free dedicated BF2 server just to mess around and practice wiping out tough NPC's/Computer controlled enemies.

However, we dont like that we do not have the choice for unlockable weapons- for whatever reason that option is not clickable for him when he sets up the game.

So I have a few questions:

1. Is it possible to host a free server/game that we can unlock the higher end weapons for everyone who joins the map?


2. If not, is there a server I can pay for that allows for my friends and I to battle with computer controlled forces that we can elect to have all weapons unlocked? From my understanding, the only servers you pay for are the ones where you only battle other players, and I do not want this setup for our group....

3. Whats the max number of players I can allow on a free dedicated server? (Obivously paid servers you can dictate the number)

4. If I use a trick to unlock the weapons by modifying one of the source files, its going to screw up my regular BF2 online account when i play against other players..Is there a method to unlock these and still not screw with my regular BF2 account?

#1. Not with the current 1.3 patch. The 1.4 patch will enable unlocks on unranked servers.

#2. Currently only ranked servers have the unlocks. See answer to #1.

#3. 64 players is the games max. Your upload bandwith will limit the number of players. A full 64 player server fully loaded can use 8mb of bandwidth.

#4. You can use the FFOLKES mod for SP and COOP unlocks, but I do not know about MP unlocks. The way these are created, as a mod, they do not make changes to your main bf2 game.

Just wait until the announcement tomorrow from EA about the 1.4 patch. If it is released soon, your problems above will be solved with the new dedicated unranked server files.
